Funk Drops (2LP)

£9.99

Description:
Funk Drops” is a collection of breaks, beats and wilfully obscure rare grooves from the vaults of Atlantic, Atco, Cotillion and Warner Bros, highlighting the period 1968 - 1974.

Mixing fairly well known names such as The Meters and Charles Wright (albeit performing an unreleased track and a single-only rarity respectively),with mainly single-only releases from extremely obscure and unknown acts that have fairly hefty price tags on the collectors market (the Tony Alvon and Houseguests (Bootsy Collins) singles alone would set you back around £300 - if you could find them !), these tunes are above all gritty get-down funk recordings, many on CD and album for the first time, that go to show the quality and quantity of the Warner back catalogues. Also available as DJ-friendly vinyl 2LP set with a bonus track, this is the first in the series. This is the double vinyl LP with a bonus track; Freddi Henchi & The Soul Setters' “Funky To The Bone”
